A: Yes, in many cases. In 2005, President Bush signed into law The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act. This new law represents one of the most comprehensive overhauls of the Bankruptcy Code in 25 years, particularly with respect to consumer bankruptcy reforms. Nevertheless, even under the new law, it is entirely possible for many if not most people seeking bankruptcy protection to successfully and legally obtain debt relief. The Law Firm of Michael A.
